The Canberra Friends of the Camino provides a way for people in the ACT who have travelled the Camino de Santiago or similar pilgrimage route to share their experiences in person with others interested in doing the same.
There is truly a wealth of resources on the internet that will help those interested in undertaking the Camino de Santiago, but none of these are quite the same as being able to listen and talk to someone who has risen to the challenge and completed a pilgrimage.
Meetings are held at the Spanish Australian Club of Canberra, 5 Narupai St, Narrabundah, on a regular basis. Check the calendar for details of the next meeting.
We have regular meeting dates where everyone interested can come along and talk to people that have walked the Camino. They are held every month on a Saturday at the Spanish Australian Club of Canberra (click on Location Tab on the left above for map), from 3.00pm to 5.30pm.
The next meeting dates for 2014 are:
(with any special activities that may be suggested in between these dates to be advertised on this website).
NEXT FRIENDS GATHERING: 20 Dec 2014 @ 3.00 pm @ the Spanish Australian Club of Canberra
Our final meeting will largely be a social gathering. We are thinking of having a Christmas on the Camino theme, as well as an informal show and tell about packs and packing. If you have returned from the Camino, and can recreate your pack as it was at the end of your Camino, we would really welcome your contribution to helping others understand this practical aspect of preparation.
